Private Edward Mark Davis

Edward was born on February 4th 1899, and baptised at the Parish Church of Dorking on 26th March 1899. His parents are William and Dorcas. Their address is 64 Dene Street, Dorking.

In the 1901 census, Edward is living at 28 Mouson Road in Reigate, with his parents and one older brother named William, who is 4 years old.

The 1911 census finds the family living at 19 Gainsborough Road in Bognor, Sussex. Edward now has two more brothers; Frank aged 8 and Alfred Phillip aged 1 and one sister; Dorothy aged 7.

After the 1911 census the family moved to East Malling in Kent. Edward enlisted into the Training Reserve in Maidstone.

Edward was admitted to the Borough Sanatorium in Southend-on-Sea. He died on 3rd June 1917 when he was 18 years of age. He is buried in the Churchyard of St. James the Greater in East Malling, Kent.
